The Clinical Study with Ortho Novum 2mg in Korean Women(A Preliminary Report)

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose. of this study was to know about the effectiveness as well as side effects of this drug as a contraceptive in Korean women.
1) Since August 1965, the study,has encom passed a total of 1, 205 cycles experienced by 796 patients, The. range of use was from one, to five cycles.
2) Protection against conception afforded by the medication proved complete insofar as not a single pregnancys occured in any patient while the drug was being taken.
3) Secondary the rapeutic benefits´ were noted .in relieff of preexisting. menorrhagia and aysmenorrhea in cases.
4) No significant side effects attributable to the use of the durg were noted.
5) Less than 1 % (7 cases. discontinued `to have the use of this medication . of 2nd cycle. a out of 7 cases were caused by nausea, vomitting and gastric disorders.
This drug was- highly effective as a oralcontraceptive and proved to be devoid of any serious side effects in Korean women.
